Yin Yoga Now is a passive yoga class using blocks, blankets and pillows to support the body in shapes for 3-5 minutes.

The different shapes compress one part of the body while another is invited to expand or open. The props bring the floor up to the body so the muscles can relax to give the connective tissue the opportunity to stretch.

This class begins in a seated posture with a short breath practice. The shapes are demonstrated and variations are offered. Felicia transitions to sit and offers suggestions and readings of yoga and Buddhist philosophy as well as poetry.

Each class will offer shapes to open the hips, spine and shoulders. A generous savasana (final rest) completes the practice so that you may rest and digest.

A Yin Yoga practice can result in more mobility or more mobility with less discomfort. It invites us to listen to our physical, emotional and mental wisdom. It connects us with our courage to be still and patient with what it uncomfortable. Yin Yoga balances out all the active Doing and welcome us to rest in Being human.

Students are welcome to ask questions before and after class.

Class is 75 minutes.
