Journey to Solstice: Embracing Stillness, Silence, Darkness & Light with Yoga Nidra is a four week subscription series which includes breath practices, guided meditations, and journal prompts to help you align with the natural rhythms of the season.

Autumn is the Harvest season, a season of gratitude for the earth’s bounty and the natural Life-Death-Life Cycles. We eat rich and nourishing foods, the bounty of summer, and we marvel at the changing landscape. We may feel a touch of melancholy as the leaves turn and fall, and when the air turns cold and the wild things grow their winter coats, we pull our own winter layers out of attics and basements.

There is a hustle to the season, with holidays and end of year deadlines, but under all of it, we feel an inherent pull towards stillness.

What if we listened to the inner voice that says, “Be still”?

Yoga Nidra, literally yogic sleep, is a transformative practice of guided meditation that encourages relaxation, stillness, and self-awareness. This asynchronous class series is thoughtfully designed to help you navigate the depths of winter, guiding you through the darkest days and connecting you with the radiance at the center of your being.

Throughout this series, you will:

  • Find Deep Rest: The hustle of the holiday season can be overwhelming with so many extras on the calendar and to-do list. This series provides a formal invitation for you to step off the hamster wheel and carve out time for intentional rest. The breath practices are designed to help you “pump the brakes,” to gently still your body and focus your mind. Once still, the guided meditations lead you deeper relaxation and profound rest.

  • Explore Stillness and Silence: Winter is a season of dormancy and hibernation for so much of the natural world. We too often feel compelled to turn inward, conserve our energy, process and reflect in anticipation of a new beginning and new year. The series provides the framework for you to explore the quietude within yourself and discover what insights arise in that sacred space.

  • Honor the Winter Solstice: The Winter Solstice marks a turning point in the year, a moment when darkness reaches its peak, only to give way to the gradual return of light. Learn to appreciate the beauty of this natural cycle and find symbolism in your own life, as you let go of what no longer serves you and welcome the promise of new beginnings.

  • Connect with the Light Within: According to yoga philosophy, our essence or true nature is light. Suffering comes from over-identification with the body and the mind, but clarity and peace comes with connection to our inner light, a radiant source of strength, resilience, and joy.

Emails drop every Friday morning and meditations are available for one week, enabling you to participate at your own pace. Whether you're new to Yoga Nidra or an experienced practitioner, these sessions are accessible and suitable for all levels.
