1-1 Yoga Therapy Session (Remote)

Yoga therapy is an approach to holistic healing that applies the ancient wisdom and practices of yoga to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Yoga therapy is individualized.

It involves a process of intake and assessment to determine areas of imbalance and a customized application of yoga practices – physical postures, breath patterns, and meditation techniques– to guide you towards your specific goals. Because it is a tailored approach, it is best experienced one-on-one or in a small group setting with other individuals who have similar therapeutic needs.

Yoga therapy is integrative.

It is founded in yoga philosophy, at the root of which is the relationship between the body, mind, and essence or spirit.

Unlike other healing modalities which focus on either physical health or mental/emotional health, yoga therapy addresses the whole person. A yoga therapy practice might include a combination of adapted yogic tools to ease discomfort in the physical body, soothe the nervous system, calm and focus the mind, and connect you with an overall feeling of vitality and well-being.

Yoga therapy is empowering.

Yoga therapy encourages your ongoing exploration, self-reflection and commitment to practice in between sessions. This ensures your practices evolve to meet your evolving needs. And setting aside time to work towards your wellness goals establishes a powerful current in your life, building momentum around resilience, self-care & self-efficacy, all of which are imperative to healing.

How is YOGA THERAPY different from YOGA?

Yoga Therapy includes assessment and intake and a highly individualized application of yoga practices. It is best experienced one-on-one or in a small group setting with other individuals who have similar therapeutic needs.

Group yoga classes offer a generalized approach to yoga. While group yoga classes are a wonderful introduction to yoga and provide the benefit of practicing in community, the particular sequence of postures (asana), pranayama (breath patterns), meditation techniques and mantra, are not selected to meet any particular therapeutic need.

Who can benefit from YOGA THERAPY?

Literally anyone can benefit from yoga therapy, whether they are seeking relief from physical ailments, tools to manage mental and emotional health, deeper awareness of self, or all of the above.

This session is 75 minutes long. Remote via Zoom.

Journey to Solstice: Embracing Stillness, Silence, Darkness & Light with Yoga Nidra

Journey to Solstice: Embracing Stillness, Silence, Darkness & Light with Yoga Nidra
A four-week practice series to help you align with the natural rhythms of the season.

As we move toward winter, we enter a liminal passage where the external world sheds what is no longer needed and honors the primal Life Death Life rhythm. Leaves fall, fields lie fallow, and animals grow lush winter coats in preparation for the long cold ahead. Even in the midst of modern busyness, we can hear it if we listen, a quiet whisper at the edge of awareness inviting us to turn toward stillness.

What if we listened to the inner voice that says, “Be still”?

Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a deeply restorative form of guided meditation that invites profound relaxation, clarity, and connection to the deep inner well that lives beneath the noise of everyday life. Journey to Solstice offers an asynchronous, four-week exploration designed to support you through the darkest days of the year and guide you back to the steady glow within.

Throughout the series, you will:

  • Find Deep Rest
The pace of the holiday season can be overwhelming. This series gives you a structured pause, a moment to step off the hamster wheel and return to yourself. The weekly breath practices help you gently pump the brakes, while the guided Yoga Nidra sessions lead you toward deep, replenishing rest.

  • Explore Stillness and Silence
Winter teaches us the art of going inward. As nature quiets, we too are invited to conserve energy, reflect, and listen. These practices create space for you to encounter the quiet within and notice what arises when the noise settles.

  • Honor the Winter Solstice
The solstice marks the longest night of the year and the beginning of the return of light. Together we will reflect on this symbolic turning point, what you are ready to release, and what new beginnings you are ready to welcome.

  • Connect with the Light Within
Yoga philosophy teaches that our true nature is light. When we soften our identification with the constant chatter of body and mind, we rediscover clarity, peace, and an inner radiance that is always present.

How It Works
Each Sunday morning, you will receive an email with a breathing practice, a guided Yoga Nidra meditation, and journal prompts. Materials are available for one full week so you can move at your own pace. Whether you are new to Yoga Nidra or returning to it, the practices are accessible and supportive for all levels.

Join us on this quiet and transformative journey as we honor the beauty of darkness, welcome the return of light, and reconnect with the luminous essence at the center of your being.
